A Treasure Trove of Truth

This morning I stumbled upon a treasure trove of gifts from God in His Word.

“Therefore there is now no condemnation [no guilty verdict, no punishment] for those who are in Christ Jesus [who believe in Him as personal Lord and Savior].”  Romans 8:1 The Amplified Bible

“In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. 27 And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.”  Roman 8:26-27

These verses are gifts to me because they are not simply comforting words they are truth.  Perhaps I should I have started this post declaring this a treasure trove of truth, for each passage declares how God feels about those who put their trust in Him as well providing us with the assurances of His intercession for us…not just on the cross but as we walk through this life.  When our grief, confusion or exhaustion overwhelm us the Holy Spirit is willing and able to intercede for us in ways we can’t even begin to comprehend.  So on those days, when we are spent and have no words…the Holy Spirit steps in on our behalf.

In John MacArthur's commentary he adds some interesting insights into the passage with regard to praying for God’s will in any given situation.  “Because of our imperfect perspectives, finite minds, human frailties, and spiritual limitations, we are not able to pray in absolute consistency with God’s will.  Many times we are not even aware that spiritual needs exist, much less know how best they should be met.  Even the Christian who prays sincerely, faithfully and regularly cannot possibly know God’s purposes concerning all of his own needs or the needs of others for whom he prays.”

It amazes me how God cares for us and makes provision for us in very specific ways and He does it personally…but sending His Son and the Holy Spirit.  For those who call on Christ as Lord and Savior, we are the richest of all people.  May we spread the word of God’s truth that is available to all who would call on Him

“Seek the Lord while He may be found; call on Him [for salvation] while He is near. l

et the wicked leave (behind) his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return to the Lord, and He will have compassion (mercy) on him, and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.” Isaiah 55:6-7 The Amplified Bible
