I have had the Christmas carol Joy to the World bouncing through my mind the past few days….perhaps it’s because the theme for our Autumn Banquet is Contagious Joy….I am not sure. “Joy to the World, the Lord has come! Let earth receive her King; Let every heart prepare Him room.” A few verses later the lyrics says, “No more let sins and sorrows grow, Nor thorns infest the ground. He com…es to make His blessings flow.”I am so very grateful that our joy does not rest with the circumstances of our lives, but rather with what we do with Jesus. We don’t need to be perfect for Him, we don’t need to perform for Him…we simply need to make room in our hearts for Him. That is what He wants…our hearts.

“Lord, may we make room in our hearts for you…and not just a little room…but the whole room. And Lord for those in our midst that are anxious, fearful and running from you fearing your condemnation..may they be overwhelmed by your love and may we point them to you…through our lives and our words. In Jesus Name. Amen.”
