Office Assistant

An Office Assistant must be called to the ministry of Mt. Gilead and have a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Friendly professionalism, clear communication, and a servant-hearted attitude are essential for this position. As the first point of contact for callers, guests, and vendors, the Office Assistant plays a vital role in creating a welcoming, organized, and efficient environment. While managing phone calls and greeting guests are top priorities, this role also supports camper family communication, data entry, and general administrative tasks.

Responsible to: Guest Services Manager

  • Enjoy administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and organizing

  • Have strong computer skills and learn new software quickly

  • Are detail-oriented and enjoy keeping calendars, files, and documents organized and accurate

  • Are reliable, organized, and able to manage responsibilities in a busy office environment

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality service to employees, guest groups, campers, vendors, and the public

  • Answer incoming phone calls promptly and courteously

  • Take detailed phone messages and direct calls to the appropriate personnel

  • Greet and assist guests and vendors who enter the office

  • Assist with registration needs on camper drop off and pick up

  • Create packets, camper cards, and various documentation for summer programming

  • Perform data entry for program registrations and other administrative needs

  • Package, mail, and organize lost & found items

  • Pick up and distribute mail on scheduled workdays

 

Physical Requirements:

This role is primarily office-based but may include light physical tasks such as lifting boxes up to 25 lbs, walking to various camp buildings, reaching, bending, organizing storage spaces, and standing for periods of time while assisting guests or working in the gift store. Candidates should be comfortable moving around camp facilities and occasionally helping with simple setup or office-related tasks as needed.

 

Additional Notes:

Room and board is provided for this position. Office Assistants are expected to live onsite for the duration of their scheduled program week(s). Staff in this role may partake in all meals provided by Mt. Gilead’s kitchen services for the duration of the summer season or their employment period, whichever is shorter.

 

All employees may be asked to perform other tasks that further the ministry and mission of Mt. Gilead Bible Camp.
